Thanksgiving 2007 in Madison
Gretchen and I arrived back in
the US shortly before Thanksgiving. After 42 weeks of travel, this
definitely didn't help the culture shock! After a couple days in
Denver trying to remember what US Money looks like and not to convert
it every time we bought something, we headed out to Madison Wisconsin
for a week including Thanksgiving. Gretchen's Grandmother Lillian
Braham had passed away in August while we were in northern India. The
family graciously waited for our scheduled return in November to hold
the formal memorial service. We picked up a LOT of food from Qdoba on
the way to the church where a full length very nice ceremony was
performed including a piano recital by Andrew, a reading from the Tao
Te Ching by Gretchen, and a reading in German by myself.

Christmas in November!
Why wait for Christmas when everyone is together for the only time in
November? And to start things off, it's not Christmas without Pull-Apart!
We also visited Uncle Herb and Aunt Dorothy who spent many years in
India, and Herb has also traveled the world in his employ of the
Lutheran Church,at one point even sharing a cube with Arch Bishom
Desmond Tu-tu!
