To beat the Thanksgiving rush, we headed out to Madison a week before Thanksgiving. Lucky us had beautiful fall weather! We spent Sunday afternoon walking up to St. Mary of the Oaks Chapel at Indian Lakes county park and then around said lake.
Cute little church, even had a little alter inside.
We seemed to have forgotten to take pictures of the other weekend events, but you can check out my parents page to see some of them. They include raking the lawn (which I managed to wiggle out of) a breath taking game of Rummiku, dinner will Lillian and a very successful map hunting trip for maps on our upcoming bicycling adventure.
Matt and I then headed down to Marion Iowa to visit the Neven family for two days. On a whim I asked Stephanie JeSchonek if she needed a ride home for the holidays from Coe College which is right next to Marion. Her schedule worked out perfectly, so we got to spend the 3hr drive back to Madison catching up.
Back in Madison for a few days with Andrew and Brenda joining the fun! We spent some time at the park taking pictures that Sarah requested. We also played a clarinet piano clarinet concert for the Voss house residents. It was fun, but a bit stressful to be practicing with an audience. Next time we'll have to sneak in the middle of the night. We also had the Braham Christmas. I had the idea that instead of us getting stuff for each other, we each pick a gift for ourselves. It was fun to see what everyone got. Lucky Dad, a very easy grid! On Thanksgiving day we volunteered for a group that made meals to take to the shut-in people. It was very busy and fun. It's good to get out and volunteer, thanks Mom for organizing us to get involved!
Mittens I made from the leftover hat yarn...
